Just now…
reemerging from a week with a nasty, nasty cold that SHOULD have been cut off at the pass by the flu shot I got two weeks ago (THANKS, Western medicine!). As a consequence spent Christmas Day (and several after) in bed, which, all things considered, was not the worst place to be, but still, wah.
We gave out some pretty nice gifts this year (and everyone’s pipe organ got tuned), but what’s interesting is a sampling of the ones we received:
- Bourbon
- Vodka
- Gatchaman G-1
- LED illuminated rocks glass (awesome!)
- Monogrammed leather dopp kit
- (REDACTED)
I have, at this point, watched enough daytime programming and movies to get me through next year.
Happy New Year, everyone!

…when you set out to do all the seasonal tunings yourself. This is week 3. A couple notes about this map:
Some of the destinations, such as New York City, have multiple places that we called on, so I did not bother list them individually.
The map omits side trips to visit clients, friends, family or hot dogs.
And it is not over yet. Newport is tomorrow and I expect at least one more trip down to Westchester.

Back and forth between my office, the voicing room (cutting tuning scrolls) and the spray room, shooting the green acid wash primer.
I just shot the first 5 facade pipes with the new gold flake century brass lacquer. Looks pretty good, I think:
